In the movie "The Matrix" the people are enslaved by artificially intelligent machines, for the purpose of usurping energy from their bodies that the machines need to survive; the people live in a pod of slime attached to a power plant and believe they live in a world just like ours. The A.I. machines deceive them to believe in a false reality by controlling the sensory input into their brain. In our Social Matrix; most people are enslaved by Elitist humans, for the purpose of usurping power and money that these humans greedily want. The people live in the real world and believe they are free thinking; have free will to live as they please and work for the benefit of themselves and family. The Elitist deceive them to believe in false perspectives of reality and social/personal philosophical beliefs and values by controlling the perspective of percepts and concepts entering their brains.
Deception is a lie; a comment or concept based on a non-real standard. It is customarily associated with malicious intent; but that is not necessarily the case. If you have an elderly loved one dieing of a terminal disease; and all they usually do is try to experience pleasure;---they're not trying to cure cancer before they die---it is benevolent , not to tell them they are going to die sooner than expected; and let them live in ignorant bliss.

Let us analize how we perceive and understand the reality around us; and how easy it is to be mislead. Our brain is attached to 5 sensory organs that detect aspects of reality around us, each from a different perspective. Our brain then perceives these sensory signals and attempts to understand and recognize them. We form a conscious percept/concept of a thing and we learn its name; them commit it to memory. These concepts become our standards of Reality (Our Beliefs). These Standards, True or False; govern our decisions and actions in life. They determine our happiness, prosperity and social interaction. If you were taught that water was called sex; imagine the difficulty you would have asking others to give you some water; you would believe they are crazy for scolding or hitting you, for such a simple request. There are two social standards; reality based rational standards and church and socially contrived irrational, deceptive standards. It is these irrational, false standards that cause failure and social problems; the same way multiple languages cause communication problems. More about how easy it is for use to be deceived. Let's say we experience a yellow gumball; it tastes and smells sweet and lemon like; it may make sounds; it looks and feels spherical and smooth and it is yellow.
All of these descriptive names; sweet, lemon, sounds, spherical, smooth, yellow; are not real concepts; they are human vocalizations and textual fabrications (language); created to identify real concepts; for the purpose of communicating with each other;(conveying a real concept from our mind to theirs) and every culture has its own fabrications to communicate with. These descriptive concepts are social deceptions that have a practical purpose; and are taught to children for the reason of communication only. There have been historical atrocities resulting from cultural communication barriers. (Misinterpretation of the Bible scriptures is a good example) Obviously a universal language would be a practical solution. A universal existential philosophy would solve personal and social problems. Better still; let's look at the notion that the object is yellow; most would look at the gumball and say; "it is yellow". That is a lie! It is a socially accepted and perpetuated deception. Color is refracted, visible electromagnetic radiation (light). When light hits an object some of the radiation turns into heat and some of it reflects off of the object and enters our eye. So; technically the object possesses no color; it is warmer in light than darkness and reflects yellow light. So we should say; "the gumball reflects yellow". Our own brain deceives us; the human eye can only sense red, green and blue; the other colors are composites in our minds, just like the RGB (red, green, blue) pixels in a monitor or printer. The other colors are varied blends of RGB that our minds interpret to be the other colors of the spectrum. The common understanding of language that we have is simple and serves a practical purpose; so this deception does no harm; within an English speaking culture. Fictional novels and magic tricks are honest deceptions that entertain us and cause no harm. The Bible, religion and staged "miracles" are fraudulent deceptions that cause tremendous harm. Our concepts (standards) of reality are not innate; they are learned from society; sometimes deceptive concepts can have a practical and benign purpose; other times they can be perpetrated on us with malicious intent. If we are not consciously aware of what we are being taught---what infant or young child is---we can easily be deceived; inadvertently or deliberately. Do I need to remind anyone of the Santa Clause lie; we believed and defended for about 8 years. We rationalized the lie, to validate it; we reviled any one that criticized it. Is God real? The church's reap a lot of power and wealth from people believing this concept that offers no tangible, perceivable evidence. We defend the lie; rationalize to validate it and revile any one that criticizes it. The media, whether televised or in print. has developed deceptive, stereotypical characters to convey their point; the "winners" are the classically attractive people; the "losers" are typically; unattractive, fat, short, bald, wearing glasses ....... children and adults alike, torment each other and discriminate based on these false standards; reinforcing the stereotype; destroying self esteems, happiness, prosperity, relationships and lives; sometimes literally. Money is a concept created by society to serve as a tool to represent a generic value for the fair exchange of goods and services. Contrary to conditioned (deceptive) belief, money has little or no intrinsic value; it only represents earned value from providing a good or service to another. Another deceptive belief about money is that it represents character, virtue, prosperity and the personal or social worth of a wealthy individual. Whether the person borrowed the money or attained it immorally or through luck, tends to be overlooked. Clothing serves a practical purpose to protect our bodies from the elements. Many falsely believe that high priced designer labels make them happy and appear successful with an excellent fashion sense. That is true amongst the society of fellow believers of that particular deception. In the minds of people who don't follow that specific lie; they not only don't appear successful with an excellent fashion sense; they don't seem to have any economic sense either.
Philosophical standards and intangible concepts are far more difficult to comprehend than a math problem. You don't fear going to Hell for eternity if you fail to figure out a math riddle.
The church maintains loyalty and obedience by forbidding association with non believers and the questioning of faith or scripture and destroying critical, objective, analytical thinking; They instill crippling fear of eternal torture for disobedience. Followers are conditioned to value Faith over reason. Faith is trust or belief without proof; in light of how easy it is to be deceived and how prevalent deceptive people and organizations are in society; is faith a prudent deference. The church sucks you in with a baseless answer to your existential questions:
Where did the universe come from? What is the purpose of existence? What is my reason for being here?
They tell you things you already know like; Love, be good, kind, benevolent, don't steal or kill.
(real standards) Then they promise but don't deliver a philosophy to help you achieve Happiness and Prosperity and avoid an eternity in Hell (a deceptive concept they created that has no perceivable proof). Then once they have you hooked, they maliciously tell you that harmless and pleasant natural desires are sins that will send you straight to Hell unless you come to them begging for forgiveness. Things like the uncontrollable desire for anothers
property or spouse ("God "made desire uncontrollable) the desire is a "sin" not the controllable action that may result from it. Casual or unconventional sex that harms no one, birth control, homosexual love ("God" made them that way and denies them a lifetime of love and sex.) The desire for wealth, Pride (self assuredness) don't
work on Sunday, honer your parents (even if they are dishonorable). (all false standards that create problems) Life is a strategy "game" like chess; it should be a competition between ignorance and enlightenment. In our society; for most, life (success, happiness and prosperity) is a competition between our innate empirical, rational sense of reality & empathetic ethical inclination; against the Theist deceptive perspective of reality & false subjective ethics. The Theists have been refining their strategies for thousands of years and teach our families and the church that we trust implicitly, to program us from infancy with deceptive concepts of reality, philosophical standards and ethical values. We are conditioned not to question these false standards, listen to Atheist and even to reject contradicting reason and factual evidence; or face a penalty of eternal torture. Very few people have a chance at winning this game when born into the Religious conspiracy.
We have an obligation to ourselves and society to overcome our delusions for the purpose of personal and social advancement. Avoiding deception in the physical realm is easy; someone makes a claim, you say give me evidence I can perceive with one or more of my five senses to validate your assertion. To eliminate a
false belief you ask yourself if there is perceptible (tangible) evidence to support this belief. Proof of tangible concepts comes by displaying its relative percepts. Recognizing and eradicating intangible concepts is far more
difficult. Intangible concepts are methods for success or comprehending imperceptible reality; They are not an issue of existent or not; they are the subject of:
1. Does this lead to the perception of reality or not. Through unbiased experimentation does this concept lead to a predictable and hopefully tangible result. Then it is a realistic concept; if not then the flaw needs to be
discovered and corrected. 2. Is this a value to me and/or society or not. Intangible concepts are methods for success; the way to validate the efficacy of the method is to apply it and perceive the effect; if the result is
valuable and does not impose on the rights of another, then it is a realistic concept; if not then the flaw needs to be discovered and corrected. The effect could be tangible, new knowledge or emotional; (beware false positive emotions.) The dilemma is; value and rights of others are misunderstood concepts that have
to be grounded to reality. Our perspective of values and rights are determined by our knowledge, logic, ethics and reason (philosophical standards). These standards are influenced by our opinion of value and others rights. They are subject to learned deception. It's your classic "What came first; the chicken or egg?" riddle. The solution is the same and Atheists are better adept to relate than Theist, do to there understanding of the evolutionary process. The answer to the riddle is neither; Its' a flawed question. The modern chicken is the result of the alternating evolutionary progression of the egg and the preceding fowl that laid it over time. Eradicating false intangible concepts is also an evolutionary process. One must question every belief (intangible concept) they have and try to ground it to reality using the most logical, rational, unbiased, empathetic and just ability they can muster. As some concepts change your overall perspective starts to change and other concepts start to fall prey to scrutiny. Over time all your delusional standards start to become resolute. This is an exercise everyone should initiate; and question every belief they retain. What you learned from another; especially as a child, is questionable. What you learned in school is somewhat flawed. What you learned in church is mostly lies that benefits the greedy, power hungry church.
Example of how deception works: Three guests check into a hotel room. The clerk says the bill is $30, so each guest pays $10. Later the clerk realizes the bill should only be $25. To rectify this, he gives the bellhop $5 to return to the guests. On the way to the room, the bellhop realizes that he cannot divide the money equally. As the guests didn't know the total of the revised bill, the bellhop decides to just give each guest $1 and keep $2 for himself. Now that each of the guests has been given $1 back, each has paid $9, bringing the total paid to $27. The bellhop has $2. If the guests originally handed over $30, what happened to the remaining $1?
Philosophical standards and intangible concepts are far more difficult to comprehend than a math problem. You don't fear going to Hell for eternity if you fail to figure out a math riddle.
The solution to the riddle: The initial payment of $30 is accounted for as the clerk takes $25, the bellhop takes $2, and the guests get a $3 refund. It adds up. After the refund has been applied, we only have to account for a payment of $27. Again, the clerk keeps $25 and the bellhop gets $2. This also adds up.
There is no reason to add the $2 and $27 – the $2 is contained within the $27 already. Thus the addition is meaningless. Instead the $2 should be subtracted from the $27 to get the revised bill of $25.
People deceive by misdirection. Magicians call it slight of hand or distraction. "If the guests originally handed over $30" is a deceptive misdirection. They entice your mind to follow one train of thought that seems to logically lead to a desired determination; when in fact it should lead to another conclusion.
